DANA FLOR
Director/Producer
Dana Flor is a documentary director, producer, and writer based in Washington D.C.
Flor co-directed and produced the film Check It, a feature-length documentary about a black gay street gang in DC, which premiered at Tribeca, as well as The Nine Lives of Marion Barry, a feature-length documentary about the notorious mayor, which appeared on HBO. She also wrote and directed the Emmy award-winning documentary Latinos in Beisbol and the Emmy-nominated documentary Cesar Chavez for NBC.
She began her career as a news reporter and producer, working on a wide range of stories for Reuters Television, CNN, BBC, National Geographic, and others, covering breaking news in Latin America and around the world.
Flor is a recipient of a Tribeca Film Institute Documentary Fund Grant, the DC Arts and Humanities Artist Fellowship, a Pare Lorenz Fund Grant, and a AFI Docs/NBC Universal Impact Grant. She also won an Influence Film Award from the Tribeca Documentary Fund.
AMY HOBBY

AMY HOBBY is an Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning producer. Most recently, she produced DORY PREVIN: ON MY WAY TO WHERE (SXSW 2024) NAM JUNEPAIK: MOON IS THE OLDEST TV (Sundance 2023) and EAT THE RICH: THE GAMESTOP STORY, a limited doc series for Netflix. Other films include WHAT HAPPENED, MISS SIMONE? (directed by Liz Garbus, Netflix), AND EVERYTHING IS GOING FINE (directed by Steven Soderbergh, Criterion Collection), LOVE, MARILYN (directed by Liz Garbus, HBO), SHEPARD & DARK (Cannes Film Festival), and THE LAST LAUGH (PBS).
Her narrative features include SECRETARY (Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Spader), HAMLET (Ethan Hawke, Bill Murray), LUCKY THEM (Toni Collette, Johnny Depp), PAINT IT BLACK (Janet McTeer, Alia Shawcat), and NADJA (Executive Producer David Lynch), among many others. Her films have played and/or won awards at festivals including Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW, Cannes, Berlin, Telluride, and Toronto . Amy is also a former Executive Director of the TRIBECA FILM INSTITUTE.
EMILY WACHTEL
Producer
Emily Wachtel originated and produced “The Last Movie Stars,” a six-part documentary film purchased by Warner Bros. Discovery that aired on HBO Max in July 2022 and is currently airing on MAX. The film, which chronicles the lives and careers of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, was directed by Ethan Hawke and executive produced by Martin Scorsese and was presented at Cannes Classics 2022. She co-wrote and produced the feature film “Lucky Them” starring Toni Collette, Thomas Haden Church, Oliver Platt, Nina Arianda and Johnny Depp, which premiered at TIFF in September 2013.
Besides other film and Television projects, Emily is a member of the Actor’s Studio, SAG/AFTRA, the Writer’s Guild of America, and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She has been a guest lecturer in film at the University of Denver and Sacred Heart University and has participated in producer panels and podcasts worldwide on women in film. Currently, she is both a board member and graduate of The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, where she studied with Sanford Meisner, and holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College.
ALEX APPEL
Executive Producer
Alex Appel is a director/producer hailing from Toronto, Canada and founder/President of Tortyfly Pictures. Her directorial debut was the short film GOOD STUFF which premiered at the Chicago International Film Festival and won the audience award. THE DEATH OF ALICE BLUE was the first feature film that Alex produced. It premiered at the MOMA Film Exhibitions in New York City. She was an executive producer on the short IN HER PLACE and the Canadian feature MR VIRAL. MODERN PERSUASION was Alex’s first USA-made feature film, which she produced with Tangerine Pictures and co-directed.

Kristina Motwani is an award-winning film editor, producer, writer, and story consultant working in San Francisco.
With Homeroom (2021), Home is a Hotel (2023), Fruits of Labor (2021), First Vote (2020), Midnight Traveler (2019) and After Tiller (2013) Motwani's verité documentarystyle strives to give intimate portraits of real people. These films were honored with Peabody, Emmy and festival awards.
Other personal recognitions include the 2021 Sundance Jonathan Oppenheim Edit Award, 2021 IFF Boston Karen Schmeer Excellence in Documentary Editing, 2019 DOCNYC 40 under 40 honoree, 2018 SFFilm FilmHouse Resident and a 2017 BAVC National MediaMaker Fellow. Her work has screened at the Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca, SXSW, and SFFilm festival and has been seen on PBS, Netflix, Hulu, and the WorldChannel.

Tom Patterson is the Steve Albini of editors. He’s been doing this for over 30 years, been nominated for Emmys, and has worked for everyone from HBO to CNN to Netflix to Amazon, but he’s not above working on your little documentary about handcrafted dollhouse sofas. He lives in NYC, and is cranky but in a charming way.

Born in a small town in northern Spain and growing up in Washington, DC, Joaquin found his passion for all things video during a short stint in the news industry. From there, he built a four-decade career as an award-winning cinematographer, editor, and producer. His work has aired on major international networks and has taken him all over the United States, Latin America the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia. When he’s not looking through a camera lens, he can be found tinkering with his beloved 1979 Ford F-150 truck.

Emmy Award winning audio professional Greg Tobler continues to provide
customized solutions for projects worldwide. Currently 27 years into his career, he has worked closely with major music artists, production companies, brands, sports franchises, and venues, providing the highest quality audio services. Greg has recently lent his talents to Norah Jones, Nile Rodgers, Bruno Mars, Evanescence, the US Tennis Open, ESPN, HBO, Octagon, Discovery+, ITV, and Netflix. In 2010, Greg designed and built his own personal studio, a premier location for audio production and recording. The studio was updated in 2018 for Dolby Atmos certification, making it one of the first locations for Dolby Atmos mixing in the tri-state area.
Greg’s depth of knowledge in the industry and unique skill set developed thanks to his experience working in a wide range of audio specialities: music, film, TV, advertising, immersive content, sports, live events, and installation/design. This has set him in his own rarified category of audio engineer. Drawing on the depth of his expertise and knowledge of current innovations in the industry, he is distinguished in the ability to provide audio solutions to the ever-evolving world of production.
